As an American with Irish and Scottish heritage, Olivia grew up with a love for Celtic music and culture. In addition to signing up for Irish dance lessons at a young age, she was exposed to the broader world of Irish language and traditional music through organizations such as Irish Traditions Atlanta, and events such as Atlanta's Celtic Christmas, the Swannanoa Gathering's Celtic Week, Scoil Eigse, and IrishFest Atlanta.
A champion Irish singer, winning gold medals in both Irish and English singing at the MIdest Fleadh Cheoil, Olivia also competed on the world stage at the 2015 All Ireland competition in Sligo, Ireland (Fleadh Cheoil naEireann) as the only American qualifier in Irish Gaelic singing. Her various experiences as a competitor and performer gave her the opportunity to meet and learn from a whole host of talented trad singers and musicians, whose direct and indirect influences are reflected in her music. These include Ashley Davis, Dave Curley, Cathy Jordan, Seamus Begley, John Doyle, Colin Farrell, Cormac de Barra, Joannie Madden, Katherine Irwin Thomas, and John Maschinot, just to name a few.
In addition to her traditional roots, Olivia also has an extensive background as a dramatic performer, playing the lead in a number of musical theater and opera performances, and being trained as a classical singer while earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Clayton State University. Olivia also served for a time as a student and then intern for Lisa Kelly, founding member of Celtic Woman, performing also with Sarah Brightman, Emmet Cahill, and with John Maschinot as a member of the Celtic Company and Ah Surely.
For the past several years, Olivia has also been a lead vocalist with the Celtic Angels, performing across the US as part of their Spring and Christmas national tours, as well as other productions.
She released her debut solo album, Misty Morning Shore, in November of 2023, with an official online launch coinciding with CD versions first being made available at IrishFest Atlanta. The album includes a mix of Irish songs (one sung in Irish), exploring themes such as love, heartbreak, loss, freedom, sacrifice, leaving home to start a new life, and longing for what's behind.
